Kingfishers and Coypu
Recently spent a week on the Spring Harvest Campsite - Le Pas Opton - in the Vendee. The site backs onto a river with open sky towards the west. In the space of a day or two I had taken some great photos of wildlife, the night sky and a beautiful misty sunrise on the river.
As well as numerous Egret and Herons we followed Coypu, a first for us, swimming along the river bank. A challenge to capture in the low light of dusk and dawn.
We also visited Commequiers where a derelict castle is surrounded by a moat. Here I was able to get some of the best images of a kingfisher to date.
The Vendee has much to commend it not least the campsite but also the coast, countryside and some great photo opportunities.
